PRACTICE BACKGROUND
Having worked for CZWG Architects for five years (1985-1989), Guy Stansfeld formed Guy Stansfeld Architects in January 1990.
In twenty one years of practice GSA has gained a reputation for high quality, design-led work and highly professional and personal service for our clients. Our reputation has been developed predominately in the design of private homes and boutique shops but our portfolio also includes, cafes, restaurants, gardens, churches, galleries and commercial buildings.
Our approach to design is driven by programme rather than by style. Each project encompasses a unique set of parameters - client, site, brief, context – which contribute to the development of the design. We aim to produce work that is in harmony with its surroundings and meets both the practical and aesthetic aspirations of our clients. The result of this approach is an eclectic body of work that demonstrates our commitment to quality and service.
We are also committed to producing buildings that are sustainable and energy efficient and we are fully conversant with current and developing technologies in this field.
